Washington Fire Lookouts Map 18x24 Poster

At one point Washington was home to more than 700 fire lookouts, but now fewer than 100 remain.  Enthusiasts like Rex Kamstra have done a great job preserving facts and photos of the history of these structures. This official list of the remaining towers has also been organized so peakbaggers can visit all of them. There are currently 93 standing lookouts remaining on the official list, plus 2 which were discovered after the list was made.

Basic poster map

I was really excited about the content of this map- fire lookouts in Washington! But it's really just looks like someone's project for a class using some map making software. There's not much to it. Just outline of state with the lookouts on it and a weird white line across the national border seems weird & and unnecessary. Could be a lot better- maybe an advanced map making class could do better. The poster seems good quality but overall it's overpriced for what it actually is. Fire lookout nerds like myself will probably order it anyway!

We're sorry the map wasn't what you were hoping for and you're very welcome to return it for a refund. Our goal is to display a single topic as prominently as possible, rather than make detailed maps. Our workflow is to make the titles and icons as large as space allows, then to build the rest of the map with a level of detail that matches those labels. For us, a finely detailed map covered with jumbo-sized icons creates a poor blend of design elements.
