The Turks and Caicos Islands protect many of their most valuable natural resources through a network of national parks and marine protected areas spread across the archipelago. Managed by the Department of Environment and Coastal Resources, these parks safeguard coral reefs, mangrove wetlands, coastal dunes, and important wildlife habitats. Many of the protected areas are marine parks, reflecting the islands’ rich underwater ecosystems. Notable examples include Princess Alexandra National Park off Providenciales, which protects coral reefs and popular snorkeling areas, and Northwest Point National Park, known for its rugged coastline and excellent diving.
