The California 14ers are a located almost entirely along the crest of the Sierra Nevada. The most prominent of these is Mount Whitney, the highest summit in the contiguous United States. Many of the peaks lie within remote wilderness areas of Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park, where long approaches and rugged terrain add to the challenge. While a few of the summits can be reached by strenuous hikes, others involve exposed scrambling or technical climbing. For mountaineers, completing all of them offers an unforgettable tour of the highest and most spectacular terrain in the Sierra Nevada.

Modern LiDAR elevations are provided with the exception of White Mountain Peak (not available as of November 2024). LiDAR analysis courtesy of Lists of John.
